More To See
More To See was a project that developed in the summer of 2020, when we were quarantining in our homes during the early months of the pandemic. I wanted to create a piece that reflected how having time had managed to shift the way my perception functioned, in both final form and process. I worked with materials that allowed me to go from quickly designing sections to slowly and tediously filling empty space.
The final piece represents how varied details communicate with each other to build bigger pictures. It conveys how certain things can only be understood with time and space; the piece is best seen by standing at different distances from it – viewing the details close up influences how the larger sections are perceived altogether. The whole thing illustrates amalgamation and the importance of paying attention to both individual and collective elements.
