ALL IN A TREE (2020)
White charcoal on coloured paper
8.5 x 11 inches
This piece is an observational drawing of the view outside of my childhood bedroom window. It surveys concepts of growth and change over time, represented by the tree which grows outside. As I grew older and changed through the five years I lived in this bedroom, the tree outside of my window grew and changed with me. It acts as a physical embodiment for my own growth. The soft and unfinished edges on the window symbolize how growth is constantly occurring, and never a completed process.
