This series depicts observational drawings of models built to explore the concept of constructed interior spaces, and their relationship with comfort. Illustrated are two spaces some may associate with security: a bedroom and a bookstore. In the drawings, the internal objects are rendered with less specificity, omitting textures of recycled materials to add verisimilitude to the space. However the models’ cardboard box exteriors are also included, reminding audiences that each space is a construction. The series prompts reflection on how comfort is created in one’s own spaces, relating to personal methods of construction and design.
