The Artist’s union (2018)

In the midst of productivity, a common byproduct is isolation. Creative fields often lack defined boundaries in their frameworks and, as a result, can create a cycle of isolation for artists as they aim to emerge on top, as this illustration depicts. Within a singular environment, a variety of creatives work, yet exist in separation from one another. Along with their lack of defining characteristics and stiff body composition, the piece acts as a representation of the negative and competitive nature of the creative industry. This piece came to fruition during the years in which I deliberated whether art was the right path for myself. I purposely kept the style juvenile, to represent the way I felt at the time, like a child fearful of a complex industry I had yet to understand.
